The Coppersmith takes its name from Ebenezer Thomson — coppersmith by trade and one-time Mayor of South Melbourne. Behind the hotel's historic mid-1800s facade you'll find touches of copper throughout, a tribute to the coppersmiths who lived and worked in this corner of the city.
